GLORIOUS HOPE

By DCLM Daily Manna

TEXT: PSALM 119:113-120
Key Verse: “I hate vain thoughts: but thy law do I love” (Psalm 119:113).
In his expression of hope, Habakkuk, one of the minor prophets in Israel, said: “Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail and the fields shall yield no meet... Yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will joy in the God of my salvation” (Habakkuk 3:17,18). “While there is life, there is hope,” goes an old saying. As long as there is hope of life, man will part with anything to save or prolong his life. He will cling to the hope of survival even in spite of all the evidence that he is not going to live. That is how important hope is to the continued existence of man. The natural man’s hope is all in this life, but it is all a fleeting, dismal hope.
There is a hope that is founded on the truth and unfailing word of God. That is the good hope, which is the hope that never disappoints. This is the same hope expressed by King David in our text. It is a hope that keeps you pure and separate from sin. Those who do not have God, do not have this hope. The people that have it are genuinely converted, for without this hope, the pain of persecution, trials and misunderstanding would have been unbearable.
The Bible is the word of God and a Book of hope. It promises us eternal life through faith in the atoning sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ and depicts the wonderful reward that awaits all those who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
Hope is essential to our perseverance, our getting through tough times in life; for without hope, we soon give up. A trust in God is the essential ingredient to build up our hope. This trust grows in us as we learn more of the promises He has given to us in His word. Give your life to Jesus and refuse to take it back and study daily in His word, fully trusting in Him to perform what He has promised.

Wait on God's Glory

By Jessyca Ezeugo

Have you ever come to God with an urgent prayer -- only to watch him do nothing? You're not alone. The Bible tells us that one day Martha and Mary sent for Jesus to come and heal their very sick brother. They sent an urgent message asking Jesus to come immediately.
A lot of times we pray that way. "God, You've got to do something now! It's urgent!" But nothing happens.
"Although Jesus loved Martha, Mary, and Lazarus, he stayed where he was for the next two days and did not go see them." (John 11:5-6 NLT) Jesus intentionally delayed; it looked like He didn't care.
Then three days after the request, Jesus turned to His disciples and said, "Let's go." By the time they arrived, Lazarus has died. Mary and Martha came running out and they both said the same thing, "If you had been here, our brother would not have died." (John 11:21, 32 TLB)
Jesus just calmly looked at them and said, "Mary, Martha, if you'll just believe, you will see the glory of God. You'll see a miracle." He walked up to the cave, they moved the stone out of the way and Jesus said, ""Lazarus, come out!' And Lazarus came " (John 11:43-44 TLB)
Jesus waited until the situation was humanly impossible and then He brought the miracle.
Do you want to have an answer from God? Be willing to let God answer in His own time.

GOD IS NEVER TOO LATE

I needed to read this today! Am sure you do too......God is never too late!
It was about eight o’clock when her son who was asthmatic developed some complications. He had to be rushed to the nearest hospital about 1km away or else it would be fatal. She called a neighbor who had a car but the neighbor said the car had no fuel; she called the pastor who said he had visiting pastors from USA and could not leave them alone. She decided to carry the son to the hospital; she could not imagine loosing her only child to the same sickness that had killed the husband few years earlier. She had a problem with her leg and could not move fast enough and the son was also heavy for her to move faster. Along the way she met people rushing home from work who just stared at her. She tried to beg them for help but they assumed her. She also tried to stop passing vehicles but they never responded. She fell many times but she had to keep moving. Then a man who was mad and used to roam the streets Unclad noticed her. He came running towards her and took the son from her. She could not talk but just pointed the direction of the hospital. The crazy Unclad man could understand perfectly well what she meant since he saw the desperate boy struggling for breath. He put him on the shoulder and told the woman “all will be well” as he ran towards the hospital. The doctors on seeing the crazy man knew something was really wrong, they attended to the boy immediately. Ten minutes later the mother arrived and the doctor broke the news “if he was brought five Minutes later, he would have died” . God doesn’t have to use Bishops, Pastors, Alfas, family, politicians & rich people with cars to rescue or bless you. No matter what may come your way, no matter what you are going through, your life is in His hands & He has good thoughts for you. I know you will make it. For there is a friend in God who will wipe away your tears. The Word says for with GOD all things are possible!

SHARE After Reading..

The instructions are to pick four people that You want God to bless. Please pass this to at least four people you want to pray for. This prayer is powerful, and prayer is one of the best gifts we can receive. There is no cost but a lot of rewards. Let's always pray for one another. The prayer:
Father, Thank You for each and every day You have blessed us here on earth. Thank You for Your tender mercies. Thank You for giving us friends and family to share these joys with. I ask You to bless my friends, relatives and those I care deeply for who are reading this right now. Where there is joy, give them continued joy, Where there is pain, give them your peace and mercy. Where there is self-doubt, release a renewed confidence. Where there is need, fulfill their needs. Bless their homes, families, finances, their goings and their comings. (If you choose to send this to more than four people, you are truly blessed to have such friends.

All is well in Jesus Name Amen!

Jesus Releases Us From Judgment

Jesus' death and resurrection releases us from judgment.
You may imagine a day of judgment where you're standing outside the gates of heaven in a really, really long line, and you're slowly moving forward, one step at a time. As you get closer, you start to sweat and wonder, "Am I going to get in?"
I have good news for you. Jesus promises that those who believe in Him - his death and resurrection - will not be judged. (John 3:18)
I've got a friend named Buddy who says, when he was a little kid, his Sunday school teacher taught him that God was sitting in heaven writing down every bad thing that Buddy ever did. She actually made the class sing a song every week that went: "My Lord is writing all the time. Writing, writing, writing all the time."
Is that the way God treats us when we come and put our faith in Christ? No! In fact, God is erasing, erasing, erasing all the time. Forgiving, forgiving, forgiving all the time. He's sitting in heaven hitting the delete button.
The Bible says, "God is love" (1 John 4:8); and "Love . . . keeps no record of wrongs" (1 Corinthians 13:5 NIV). If you put your trust in the love of Jesus Christ, your sins are wiped out (Romans 8.1).

Jesus Offers Us a Fresh Start

By Jessyca Ezeugo

Once I typed the phrase "fresh start' into Google on the Internet. It brought up 485,000 links! Evidently, a lot of people would like to have a fresh start in life. They think, "I've blown it, I've messed up, I've really made a mess of things in my life. I'd like a fresh start."
Jesus is in the business of giving people a fresh start. The apostle Peter says, "Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we've been given a brand-new life, and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven" (1 Peter 1:3-4 MSG).
Several things happen once you give your life to Christ: You open up your life to God and get to know him; You're given a brand new life, which gives you everything to live for; You get a future in heaven.
"Everything that we have - right thinking and right living, a clean slate and a fresh start - comes from God by way of Jesus Christ." (1 Corinthians 1:30 MSG)

SOMETIMES IN OUR LIVES WE ALL NEED SOMEONE TO LEAN ON

BY Seyi Alex-Hamah

To all my friends, whether close or casual, just because. One of the longest posts I will ever write, and the most real too. Everyone will go through some hard times at some point. Life isn't easy. Just something to think about. Did you know that people who are the strongest are usually the most sensitive? Did you know that people who exhibit the most kindness are the first to get mistreated? Did you know that the ones who take care of others all the time are usually the ones who need care the most? Did you know the three hardest things to say are I love you, I'm sorry, and help me? Sometimes just because a person looks happy, you have to look past their smile to see how much pain they may be in.To all my friends who are going through some issues right now--let's start an intention avalanche. We all need positive intentions right now. If I don't see your name, I'll understand. May I ask my friends wherever you might be, to kindly copy and paste this status for one hour to give a moment of support to all of those who have family problems, health struggles, job issues, worries of any kind and just need to know that someone cares. Do it for all of us, for nobody is immune. I hope to see this on the walls of all my friends just for moral support. I know some will!!! I did it for a friend and you can too......

LEAN ON ME LYRICS

 Sometimes in our lives
We all have pain
We all have sorrow
But if we are wise
We know that there's always tomorrow

Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on

Please swallow your pride
If I have things you need to borrow
For no one can fill those of your needs
That you won't let show

You just call on me brother, when you need a hand (Chorus)
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you'd understand
We all need somebody to lean on

Second Verse
(Chorus)

If there is a load you have to bear
That you can't carry
I'm right up the road
I'll share your load
If you just call me
(Chorus)
Call me (if you need a friend)
Call me (call me)
Call me (if you need a friend)
Call me (if you ever need a friend)
Call me (call me)
Call me
Call me (if you need A friend)

Spiritual Habits: Tithing

by Jessyca Ezeugo

We develop spiritual fitness when we honor God by giving him a tithe every week. Tithing is the spiritual habit of giving back to God the first 10 percent of all I make. If I make $100, I give $10 back to God; if I make $1000, I give $100 back to God. I get to keep 90 percent, but I give 10 percent to Him.

Why would anybody have to do that? Because God says so and that's reason enough. If you don't do it, you're disobeying God. But there are more reasons. Jesus says, "Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be." (Matthew 6:21 NLT)

The reason I tithe is to draw me closer to God. The Bible says wherever you put your money is where your heart is. If I put my money in a boat, that's where my affection goes. If I put God first when it comes to my money, it says, "God, you're first in my life."

If you show me how you spend your time and how you spend your money, I'll show you what's important in your life. No matter what you say is important -- show me your schedule and your checkbook stubs and I'll tell you what's really important to you.

SEEKING TO 'BELONG'

by Thomas Wilson

I find it rather amusing when I see people wanting to associate with achievers.

Some will do anything just to be found in the company of 'celebrities', because they feel that their value/worth in the eyes of people will appreciate theretofore.

The truth is, you do not need to force yourself on people.
You don't become celebrated by dinning with celebrities.
You become celebrated by excelling in your vocation!

Instead of seeking to 'belong', commit your all to your vocation and become successful in it. Then people will seek to associate with you.

Those 'celebrities' whose company you crave for, will consider themselves privileged to associate with you, if you become outstanding in your chosen vocation.

So, do not seek to 'belong'. Rather, seek to excel.

Spiritual Habits: Quiet Time

by Jessyca Ezeugo

Getting time with God each day is one of the spiritual habits of effective people. We develop spiritual fitness by having a quiet time each day for Bible reading and prayer.

What's the reason for that? To get direction from God: "Show me the path where I should go, O Lord; point out the right road for me to walk." (Psalms 25:4 TLB)

Sometimes we can get so busy in life that we can forget the direction we're going. Like the pilot in World War II flying over the Pacific who radioed back, "I have absolutely no idea where I'm going. I'm lost. But I'm making record time."

Many times we get very busy. We need to slow down and get direction from God. This means we spend time with God on a daily basis; we talk to God in prayer; we let Him talk to us from His Word; and we listen for his direction.

Jesus is our model; he "often withdrew to lonely places and prayed." (Luke 5:16 NIV) You can't get to know God if you're always in a crowd. You get to know God in a one-on-one encounter.

Notice the Bible says Jesus withdrew often; his quiet time was His source of strength.

And Jesus teaches that we are strengthened as we develop a deep and intimate relationship with him: "If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you." (John 15:7 NIV)

God Smiles When We Praise

by
Jessyca Ezeugo

Few things feel better than receiving heartfelt praise and appreciation from someone else. God loves it, too. He smiles when we express our adoration and gratitude to him.
Noah's life brought pleasure to God because he lived with a heart of praise and thanksgiving. Noah's first act after surviving the flood was to express his thanks to God by offering a sacrifice. (Genesis 8:20)
We praise God for who he is, and we thank God for what he has done. (Hebrews 13:15; Psalm 116:17) David said, "I will praise God's name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving. This will please the Lord." (Psalm 69:30-31 NIV)
An amazing thing happens when we offer praise and thanksgiving to God. When we give God enjoyment, our own hearts are filled with joy!
My mother loved to cook for me. Even after I married Kay, when we would visit my parents, Mom prepared incredible home-cooked feasts. One of her great pleasures in life was watching us kids eat and enjoy what she prepared. The more we enjoyed eating it, the more enjoyment it gave her.
But we also enjoyed pleasing Mom by expressing our enjoyment of her meal. It worked both ways. As I would eat the great meal, I would rave about it and praise my mother. I intended not only to enjoy the food but to please my mother. Everyone was happy.
Worship works both ways too. We enjoy what God has done for us, and when we express that enjoyment to God, it brings him joy - but it also increases our joy.

God Smiles When We Trust

Imagine this scene: One day God comes to Noah and says, "I'm disappointed in human beings. In the entire world, no one but you thinks about me. But Noah, when I look at you, I start smiling. I'm pleased with your life, so I'm going to flood the world and start over with you and your family. I want you to build a giant ship that will save you and the animals."

There were three problems that could have caused Noah to doubt: 1) Noah had never seen rain because prior to the flood God irrigated the earth from the ground up; 2) Noah lived hundreds of miles from the nearest ocean; 3) There was the problem of rounding up all the animals and then caring for them.
But Noah trusted God completely, and that made God smile.

Trusting God completely means having faith that God knows what is best for your life. You expect him to keep his promises, help you with problems, and do the impossible when necessary.

Trusting is an act of worship. Just as parents are pleased when children trust them, your faith makes God happy. The Bible says, "Without faith it is impossible to please God." (Hebrews 11:6 NIV)

In what areas of your life do you need to trust God completely?
